submitted by Joseph W. - |Recommended: YesApartment Is Okay, And Amenities Good, But Building Is Aging. — Overall, Oakridge has good value. Pros for this apartment include large updated laundry facilities and access to a laundry card , large parking lot with free parking, clubhouse and swimming pool, air conditioning, a 46 flat screen television, good apartment layout, and good staff. The buildings are getting old and showing quite a bit of wear.Cons to the apartment include worn out carpeting and appliances, poor noise and heating insulation, and slow or no response to correcting problems created by previous tenants. For noise levels, I have to wear earplugs every night because I can hear everything outside the apartment both traffic and people . For addressing problems from previous tenants, I had to replace drip pans that were probably neglected for years a couple of times. During the times I move in, I find the apartment dirtier than tolerable and file a complaint, but nobody shows up to clean it and I mean it when I say dirty . Management likes to charge fees on those who don't take care of things, but it seems slow to spend time or money from said fees to fix problems before the next set of tenants move in. I had to deal with this on more than one occasion, and its frustrating. I still recommend this complex, however. Since utilities are included with the rent, it is a better bargain than some of the other older complexes in town. The community is really good. There are plenty of opportunities for people to find friends in a place like this. Just be aware that this isn't the Ritz hotel, and before you move in, check the apartment to make sure it is to your liking before taking on problems created by previous tenants.
response from property -Joseph, Sorry you had some problems. If you have any issues in the future, please let me know I can personally make sure they get fixed. Thanks! Hanah Gillman, Property Manager

The apartments are a little older so you have to understand that, but for the most part they are very well taken care of.

Great beds and love the private rooms. The kitchen is big and perfect for 4 people to store their stuff. I love how close it is to campus and can walk to up in 10 minutes and there is an Aggie shuttle that comes by every 10-15 minutes. The hot tub wasn't that hot and now it is starting to get hotter as they fix the jets and what not. Parking here is hard to find after 9 pm. Walls are very thin and you can your neighbors and everything they do. Wish the snow in the parking lot would get removed quicker and better. Internet sucks but what do you expect when there is 600 people on it, wish it could be faster.
submitted by Madeline S. - |Recommended: No4 Star Property, -5 Star Management — Oakridge Apartments have a great environment and have a great potential to be a decent place to live. However, management completely ruined my experience here at Oakridge. They are disorganized and difficult to work with. After several complaints starting in September about the WIFI, Oakridge has yet to do anything about it and it is now March. I will never even consider living here again.

You cant watch movies on moble devices like your phone or laptop because the internet cant keep up with it and if the wifi is down and your homework is online youre out of luck and just hope that you didnt procrastinate. Management is good and they are pretty quick with work orders. Usually done on the day of request

I would for sure recommend it to anyone. For how old the complex is, the apartments are very nice. The staff is extremely friendly and it's super nice not having to worry about utilities and paying to do laundry. The only downfall is if your neighbors above you are loud, then you will constantly hear them.
submitted by Kayla L. - |Recommended: NoIt Is The Most Awful Disgusting Place I Have Ever Lived In. — It is horrible. I do not recommend to anyone ever. There are many things wrong here including me telling management our carpets are bad and management said they have no money to fix this. I had a professional look at my carpets and he said my carpet is rotting and aged about 13 years. The pad underneath is the original pad also from whatever year they built it. Oakridge will pick and choose who they charge for damages. One person will move out and the created damage they didn't pay for, then you will move out and you will get fined for stuff you didn't do. The internet is nonexistent so don't plan on being able to use it without buying your own router. The only reason I am still here is because I have great roommates and only a year left.... Convenience is the only good thing about this place.

However, I take issue with how they maintain their buildings. First, we move into a dirty apartment at least 3 hours after the former residents were supposed to have moved out. The apartment was a total mess, and we were promised somebody would come to clean it for us. That never happened, instead we cleaned it ourselves after the weeks. Then we started to notice things in the apartment that had been obviously neglected like the leaking foundation and rotting baseboards in the living room. When we brought it to their attention, the maintenance crew just dried out the carpet and repainted the base boards. Now it smells like mold in our living room. I am not impressed and can't wait to move out.

Management overall is helpful and friendly. As far as the internet is concerned. When it works it works great. Only problem is that it doesn't work or you will all of a sudden lose connection. The internet is my #1 issue with this place. Overall though great!
